The Portfolio Committee of Committee on Public Service and Administration Chairperson, Ms Teliswa Mgweba, has invited interested parties to make written or oral submissions on the Public Service Commission (PSC) Bill, currently under consideration by Parliament.
Interested citizens, academics, organised labour, and other stakeholders are invited to send their written submissions and indicate their interest in making oral submissions on the Bill no later than 16 February 2024.
Approved on 24 May 2023 and published in the Government Gazette No. 48758 dated Friday, 09 June 2023, the Bill will enable the PSC to operate as an independent and impartial constitutional body with the view to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the PSC within the public service. It is also meant to ensure that the mandate of the PSC is extended to Municipalities and Public Entities.
The submissions should be directed through the Secretary of the Public Service Commission Committee, Mr Masixole Zibeko, addressed as follows:
