Residents of Ward 114 in Zandspruit will access a range of essential government services during a planned Integrated Service Delivery Blitz to be held at the Zandspruit sports ground on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The Integrated Service Delivery Outreach programme, to be led by Public Service and Administration Deputy Minister, Pinky Kekana, is part of Public Service Month (PSM). The month serves to remind public servants of what it means to serve communities and to assess the impact of government’s service delivery.
Deputy Minister Kekana is encouraging residents to attend in their numbers to access the wide range of essential services being brought directly to their doorsteps.
The outreach, aimed at addressing social and economic challenges, will bring together the Department of Home Affairs, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Department of Employment and Labour, Department of Water and Sanitation, Pikitup, and other government entities.
Residents will also have the opportunity to use the programme to share their day-to-day service delivery challenges directly with Deputy Minister Kekana.
Public Service Month
Public Service Month promotes the professionalisation of the public service towards building a capable developmental state that provides effective and efficient services.
Objectives of PSM:
• Remind public servants about what it means to serve.
•Assess government’s service delivery impact.
•Recommit and rededicate public servants to the ethos of Batho Pele.
• Improve the morale of public servants by inculcating pride in their roles.
• Improve the health and wellness of public servants.
•Integrate all September activities that government normally commemorates, such as Arbor Week, Heritage Month, Tourism Month, and Police Day.
This year’s programme is organised under the theme, “Professionalising the Public Service to Build Trust and Restore Confidence in Government.” This underscores the urgent need to strengthen the capacity, integrity, and performance of the public service as a critical lever for improving service delivery and rebuilding citizen confidence in state capacity.
