Public Service and Administration Minister, Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi has welcomed and commended the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) for receiving a clean audit for the 2023/24 financial year.

“This is a significant achievement for the department and a testament to the hard work and commitment of the leadership and staff…a clean audit demonstrates the department’s dedication to good governance, financial management, and service delivery.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the collective effort of the entire DPSA team.

“We commend the Director-General, Ms Yoliswa Makhasi, and all the department’s employees for their hard work and dedication,” said Minister Inkosi Buthelezi.

His sentiments were echoed by Deputy Minister, Pinky Kekana. “Receiving a clean audit is an important milestone, not just for the DPSA, but for the public service as a whole. It shows that we can deliver efficient, accountable, and transparent government to the people of South Africa.”

“Good governance and accountability are essential for rebuilding trust in the public service. The DPSA has shown what is possible, and we look forward to seeing other departments follow suit,” said Deputy Minister Kekana.

The clean audit outcome means the department’s financial statements are free of material misstatements, its performance information is reliable, and it has complied with key legislation.

Both Minister Buthelezi and Deputy Minister Kekana share the same sentiments that the clean audit outcome sets a benchmark for other government departments to aspire to, and they encouraged the DPSA to continue its exemplary performance.
