The department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) has called on government departments to comply with the submission of advertisements timeframe of the Public Service Vacancy Circular deadline to cater for the festive season closure.
The last Public Service Vacancy Circular for this year will be issued on December 01, 2023.
DPSA Director-General, Ms Yoliswa Makhasi recently issued a circular on all employment management circular to all Heads of both national and provincial administration as well as government components.
“The requests should be submitted to the DPSA no later than 24 November 2023; we want to urge departments to comply with the submission of advertisements timeframe and the adjustment of the vacancy closing date to cater for the festive closure.
“The first Public Service Vacancy Circular for 2024 will be issued on 12 January 2024, which implies that inputs must be submitted by not later than December 08, 2023, to allow the administrative processes that require the Human Resources in the departments to be dealt with before festive closure as well as January resumption of work schedule,” she said.
For purposes of assisting the DPSA in capturing departmental advertisements in the Vacancy Circular uniformly, Ms Makhasi requested departments to ensure that the advertisements are submitted in the format as defined in Employment Management Circular 38 of 2020 and Circular 19 of 2022.
