The South African youth and other youth from BRICS countries and the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council are invited to participate in International Youth Social Anti-Corruption Advertising Competition, organized under the theme “Together against Corruption!.”
The contest aims to develop anti-corruption public education, form an intolerant social attitude towards corruption, encourage young people to participate in corruption prevention, raise public awareness in relation to anti-corruption issues, foster interaction between society and anti-corruption institutions, and build confidence and positive attitude in youth creative work.
The contest’s goals are to attract young people to participate in corruption prevention, develop and use social anti-corruption advertising to prevent corrupt practices, and form the interaction between the society and bodies engaged in the anti-corruption efforts, in the anti-corruption public education.
The project includes BRICS countries and countries which are members of the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council.
The Public Administration Ethics, Integrity, and Disciplinary Technical Assistance Unit (PAEIDTAU) coordinates the Contest in South Africa and provides support to the youth who wish to participate in the initiative.
The Department of Public Service and Administration recognized the work of the participants of the competition through a National Awards ceremony which was hosted by the Director General, Ms Yoliswa Makhasi on 19 November 2021, who handed out certificates and prizes to the winners. South African youth successfully participated in the international contest in 2019 winning three prizes and in 2021 winning one prize.
Young people between the ages of 14 and 35 are invited to design a poster or develop a video to raise awareness and express their attitudes toward corruption under the theme “Together against Corruption!”. To take part in the contest, an applicant had to register a personal account on the official Contest website to upload their entries.
The Contest is open for entries from 1 May 2023 to 1 October 2023, and the categories are the best poster and the best video. Contestants are allowed to use their home languages or English in producing the video or designing the poster. If a local language is used in the video, subtitles are supposed to be created in English.

The International Youth Contest of Social Advertising against Corruption is a creative means through which the youth can engage in anti-corruption matters and have their voices heard through the design of videos and posters.
