President Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa will, in his capacity as Chairperson of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), chair the 30th African Peer Review (APR) Forum of Heads of State and Government meeting tomorrow, Thursday, 25 March 2021 from 14:30 – 17:30.

The 30th Summit of the Forum will, among other items, welcome the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as the newest Member State to accede to the APRM.

The Summit is also expected to conduct the peer review of Liberia; discuss reports on targeted reviews of Sierra Leone and Zambia; receive a briefing on Sudan’s governance gap analysis, and receive an update on progress in Nigeria’s second review process.

Kenya and Mozambique will also make presentations on the implementation of their national programs of action.

President Ramaphosa will also use the opportunity of the 30th Summit of the APR Forum to apprise his counterparts about the progress of the 2nd Generation Review in South Africa.

The National Governing Council (NGC) of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in South Africa extends its best wishes to the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency (HE) President Cyril Ramaphosa, as he will be convening and chairing the 30th APR Forum of Heads of State and Government on 25th March 2021.

“As the APRM NGC of the Republic of South Africa, we wish to extend our gratitude to President Ramaphosa for the political will to do this work, Public Service and Administration Minister Senzo Mchunu, and Deputy Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga, for the leadership and guidance, including the DG of DPSA Ms Yoliswa Makhasi, for the operational support, the National Secretariat for the implementation support and the Continental Secretariat of the APRM for the continued guidance and support,” said the South African National Governing Council Chairperson, Mr Thulani Tshefuta.
