Public Service and Administration Deputy Minister, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga is representing the South African government at an international Roundtable conference for African Public Service Administrators and Managers in Cairo, Egypt.
The African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) 40th Roundtable gathering started on Tuesday, December 3 and will end on Friday 6 December 2019.
The AAPM is an international professional association for African public service administrators and managers.
It promotes best practice, excellence and professionalism in public administration and management in Africa through research, publications, training, seminars, consultancy, conferences and conferring of awards.
Speaking about the significance of the conference, Deputy Minister Chikunga said: “The annual roundtable conference is a platform for government, the private sector, civil society, and other key stakeholders to share and exchange knowledge and best practices on matters pertaining to capacity building and other developmental issues in the public sector.
“South Africa continues to play a prominent role in AAPAM activities and has served on the Executive Council of AAPAM, with the Director General of the DPSA as Vice President, representing the southern Africa region for two consecutive terms.”
Through this symposium, the association also promotes best practice, excellence and professionalism in the African public administration and management space.
