DPSA Calls on Public Servants to Strengthen Service Delivery Innovation

To foster a culture of innovation in service delivery, the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) is engaging national and provincial departments to support the establishment of a National Innovation Database.

The purpose of the database is to capture the names of officials who will be responsible for implementing innovation initiatives and participating in ongoing consultations on best practices across the Public Service, particularly in areas related to innovation and research.

Once operational, the National Innovation Database is expected to support the development of innovation policies aimed at dismantling the silo mentality prevalent in the Public Service. This fragmented approach often results in limited knowledge sharing, which hampers co-creation, continuous learning, and collaboration, which are key drivers of innovation, as noted by Acting Director-General Vukela.

Departments are therefore requested to nominate relevant officials by 27 May 2025 and contact the following officials for more information:
