{"id":5224,"date":"2025-07-03T16:54:30","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T14:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wordpress\/\/?p=5224"},"modified":"2025-07-03T16:54:30","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T14:54:30","slug":"minister-to-appoint-advisory-committee-on-curriculum-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/thepublicservant\/2025\/07\/03\/minister-to-appoint-advisory-committee-on-curriculum-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister to Appoint Advisory Committee on Curriculum Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Public Service and Administration Minister Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi announced plans to appoint a Ministerial Advisory Committee focused on curriculum development and quality assurance during his Budget Vote Speech on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering the 2025\/26 budget vote speech at the Good Hope Chambers in Cape Town, Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi emphasized the importance of the National School of Government (NSG) in enhancing state capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The NSG has been instrumental in building state capacity,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he stated. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It will partner with businesses, industries, and civil society to further enrich its curriculum and impact. I will appoint a Ministerial Advisory Committee dedicated to curriculum development and quality assurance.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said, the NSG is at the forefront of government efforts to professionalise and create a capable public service, in line with the National Development Plan (NDP). He noted that the NSG is poised to deepen its impact through strategic initiatives that align with evolving demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Key priorities include implementing the National Framework for Professionalisation by extending programs like Nyukela and developing new qualifications and Professional Learning Programmes (PLPs) for our public servants.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to ensuring that compulsory education for public servants equips them with critical competencies for their roles,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the President\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s directive, the NSG will also emphasize digital capabilities and Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills to prepare the public service for the digital age.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The budget we present today is not just a financial document, but a roadmap for transformative change.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Through our collective efforts, we are dedicated to building a capable, ethical, and developmental public service that works for all,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister tabled a joint budget of R564.720 million allocated to both the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) and the Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) for the upcoming financial year.<\/p>\n<p>The National School of Government (NSG) will operate with a budget of R228.6 million, while the Public Service Commission (PSC) is allocated R302 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Public Service and Administration Minister Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi announced plans to appoint a Ministerial Advisory Committee focused on curriculum development and quality assurance during his Budget Vote Speech on Wednesday.
