{"id":4112,"date":"2024-04-05T15:45:53","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T13:45:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wordpress\/\/?p=4112"},"modified":"2024-04-05T15:45:53","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T13:45:53","slug":"dpsa-collaborates-with-undp-to-implement-gender-equality-project-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/thepublicservant\/2024\/04\/05\/dpsa-collaborates-with-undp-to-implement-gender-equality-project-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"DPSA collaborates with UNDP to implement Gender Equality Project Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The pilot phase of the Gender Equality Project, aimed at promoting gender mainstreaming and fostering a culture of equality within public institutions, will be launched next week on Tuesday, April 9 in Pretoria.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative builds upon the successful launch of the Gender Equality Seal during Women&#8217;s Month last year and is a result of the partnership between the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate the rollout of the pilot project, the DPSA has scheduled a meeting with heads of departments nominated for the Gender Equality Seal Project on Tuesday, April 9.<\/p>\n<p>The primary objective of this meeting is to secure the commitment of these departments and provide them with the necessary support to successfully implement the project.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between the DPSA and the UNDP signifies the shared dedication to advancing gender equality and empowering women in the public sector.<\/p>\n<p>The Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions initiative serves as the UNDP&#8217;s flagship program globally, supporting public institutions in promoting gender equality within their policies, programs, and operations.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative offers a framework for public institutions to assess their gender responsiveness and take measures to enhance performance in key areas such as gender mainstreaming, leadership and accountability, gender-responsive service delivery, and workplace gender equality.<\/p>\n<p>During the pilot phase, the selected departments will undergo various steps of the Gender Equality Seal Project, including finalizing institutional arrangements, building departmental capacity, and developing action plans.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Yoliswa Makhasi, the Director-General of the DPSA, expressed her enthusiasm for the impact of the Gender Equality Project Plan, stating, &#8220;By integrating gender considerations into our policies and practices, we aim to foster a more equitable and prosperous society for all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Gender Equality Project Plan serves as a roadmap for implementing the Gender Equality Seal for public institutions.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative incentivizes departments to integrate gender considerations into their policies and practices, ensuring a more equitable and inclusive public sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The pilot phase of the Gender Equality Project, aimed at promoting gender mainstreaming and fostering a culture of equality within public institutions, will be launched next week on Tuesday, April 9 in Pretoria.
