line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The purpose of the stakeholder engagement is to gather<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">valuable insights and feedback from stakeholders to come with solutions to the day-to-day challenges of residents of Tshwane Region 2.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The Deputy Minister will engage stakeholders on issues relating to the Rooiwal Wastewater <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Treatment Works, which is the subject of matter of the report released recently by the Public Protector, Adv Kholeka Gcaleka\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The formal part of the engagement will be preceded by<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">an unannounced visit<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">to local service delivery sites, while the three-hour stakeholder engagement is scheduled to start at 13:00. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">In June this year,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the community of Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, following the cholera outbreak, which has claimed<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">more than 20<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">lives in the area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Since then,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">government has announced short-term interventions that are currently being implemented to address the water and sanitation challenges in<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">the area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">During the Presidential visit, Water and Sanitation Minister, Mr Senzo Mchunu indicated that between August 2023 and March 2024, an improved wastewater technology solution will be installed at the Rooiwal plant, which will treat the sewage better and increase the quality of discharged effluent into Apies River.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">This is believed that it will reduce the levels of E. coli in the treated sewage. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; line-height: 16.2pt;\"><span class=\"bumpedfont15\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Government also committed to improve the drinking water provision to the residents of Hammanskraal and Magalies Water will install a portable water treatment plant at its Klipdrift Water Treatment Works near Hammanskraal.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;
