{"id":1416,"date":"2020-12-14T12:32:55","date_gmt":"2020-12-14T10:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/thepublicservant\/?p=1416"},"modified":"2020-12-14T12:37:16","modified_gmt":"2020-12-14T10:37:16","slug":"pres-ramaphosa-set-to-address-the-nation-on-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/thepublicservant\/2020\/12\/14\/pres-ramaphosa-set-to-address-the-nation-on-coronavirus\/","title":{"rendered":"Pres Ramaphosa set to address the nation on coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa will later tonight, Monday December 14, 2020 use a national TV address to update the nation about the latest steps to fight the deadly coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement relased by the Presidency, Acting Presidential spokesperson, Tyrone Seale said: \u201cPresident Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Monday evening, 14 December 2020, on developments in relation to the country\u2019s response to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe address follows meetings today, Sunday 13 December 2020, of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC), the President\u2019s Coordinating Council (PCC), and a special sitting of Cabinet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Seale, the address will be broadcast and streamed on a range of platforms that are accessible to South Africans and international audiences.<\/p>\n<p>A week ago, Government extended the National State of Disaster to January near year with some of hard lockdown measures to curb the spread of a second wave of the coronavirus in certain parts of both the Eastern and Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the nation at the time, President Ramaphosa announced that Cabinet took a decision to declare the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro a coronavirus hotspot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa will later tonight, Monday December 14, 2020 use a national TV address to update the nation about the latest steps to fight the deadly coronavirus.
