The Seventh Employee Health and Wellness INDABAVenue: Durban ICCDate: 21 - 23 October 2007Theme: "Employee Health and Wellness and Diversity Management for Public Service Excellence”BackgroundFor the past six years the Department of Public Service and Administration has been hosting learning sessions referred to as “The Public Service INDABA”. These “Indabas” have evolved over time from being consultative HIV&AIDS forums to platforms for Comprehensive Employee Health and Wellness policy consultation, review and assessment. The “Indabas” have also been forum for learning policy and programme implementation skills through presentations on best practice documented, internationally and locally, as required by policy and programme implementers. This year’s “Indaba” is the seventh and will be held at the Durban ICC on the 21st -23rd October 2007. ObjectivesThe objectives of this Conference are:
The EHW was first discussed in 2006 and will be presented in this conference as a draft framework for comment before Cabinet processes and being launched later in 2007. It is envisaged that robust engagement and discussions during the "commissions" will provide prospective and objective resolutions to the emerging Public Service Worker Health Promotion Program. International and best practice models in both Employee Healthy and Wellness and Diversity Management will be addressed to benchmark the SA interventions against these.
