The Governance and Administration (G&A) Working Session took place at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) headquarters in Pretoria yesterday.
Chaired by the Department of Public Service and Administration, the G&A consists of COGTA, Arts and Culture, Home Affairs, Women, Children and People with Disabilities and, Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation among others.
Among issues discussed, which still have to be tabled to Cabinet for further scrutiny, were the country's Report on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The Convention strives to promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities as well as promote respect for their inherent dignity.
Another presentation related to progress in the implementation of Outcome 12, as well as Performance and Monitoring by departments.
