Background and objectives

Interdepartmental sports day forms part of the build-up activities towards the Africa and United Nations Public Service Day (APSD). The objective of the day is to create awareness and support APSD, promote wellness of public servants and encourage networking amongst public servants.

Activities

Different games include soccer, netball, fun walk, indigenous games (kgati/ugqaphu; diketo/uphuca; intonga/melamu; morabaraba/mlabalaba and ncuva/ntijwa). Entertainment caters for all ages. It includes a live band, DJ, jumping castles, face paintings, clowns, puppet shows, horse riding, etc.
